Too big, can we exchange for a size 10

I ordered this dress a size larger than I am. Bit its great. It's very pretty and better than I was expecting. The biggest complaint is the length. You would have to be at least 6 ft tall to wear this unaltered. So I have several inches to trim and hem. Also my torso is short so the straps are being adjusted to fit properly. Overall I am pleased with this dress. Was skeptical and worried since it was so affordable. I'm more than willing to pay for alterations with the cost of the dress and it exceeded my expectations. Just FYI, I'm 5'3 and 165lbs. The 12 would have fit but wanted to play it safe. Ordered size 14 and can tighten the corset as needed.
