If i wanted to make the dress look bigger could i put a petticoat under, without the bottom of the petticoat showing?

I am ordering this dress for my prom. I want everything to be perfect. I was bullied and harassed a lot in high school and I want them to see that the didn't break me as much as they thought they did.
